mod_djbadsense ReviewGoogle Adsense Module for Joomla 1.5.xby Jordan Emmorey v0.1 This work is licensed under a Creative Commons License. 0. TOC and Purpose 0. TOC and PurposeThe purpose of this is paper is to review mod_djbadsense, a Joomla module for integrating Google Adsense. The version reviewed is 1.0.1 1. InstallationInstallation was as simple as any Joomla module could be. Downloading was more of a hassle than some modules, since the author requires you to register before download. 2. UseThose who have dealt with addon Joomla modules will find this module to be very intuitive. All you need is an approved AdSense account, and to create an ad. Grab the code from the "manage ad" section of adsense, and input it into djbadsense. This module has functionality to block certain IP addresses to eliminate show ing ads during development and upsetting the Google overlords. This also preven ts skewing the CTR, which helps provide more accurate metrics.
3. AssessmentThis module provides a easy to use, functional method to integrate Google AdS ense into a Joomla website. The blocked IP functionality works like a charm, wh ile the "excluded categories" option is not as intuitive. Also, the utility doe s not have the ability to justify the ads without adding html tags to the Adsens e Code section. If you can get paste the irritation of having to register in order to download and can deal with a few quirks this is a worthwhile module for use. Bravo to the author David Barrett, for creating such a functional, clean extension. 4. Resources5. ContactThanks for reading.
